Annandale's Centre of Excellence

Architectural metalwork company, Annandale Design, has demonstrated its unrivalled expertise and flexibility in balustrading and handrails, with the completion of the Centre West Shopping Centre in East Kilbride.

The contract involved the design, manufacture and installation of decorative, mild steel balusters, supporting profiled timber handrails, finished in cherry, to the atrium areas.

The glass infill panels extend beyond the floor level and use a combination of sandblasted and white ceramic fritted glass infill panels to provide a decorative effect to the bulkhead.

Managing Director, Allan Frew, said "Reflecting the growing trend in shopping centre design, the Centre West shopping centre uses voids to maximise the natural light, creating a bright, airy atmosphere. Glass and steel balustrading is also being used to enhance this feeling.
