Spiral Staircases Guidelines

Commercial Staircase:
The rquirements for commercial spiral staircases will vary dependent on application and use, however as a general rule of thumb such staircases start from 2100mm diameter upwards.

Domestic Staircase - Primary:
As the main staircase in a home, the spiral must take into consideration fire regulations and are usually 1830mm (6'-0") in diameter or greater.

Domestic Staircase - Secondary:
Dependent on the actual usage of the stair, secondary staircases can be slightly smaller in diameter, for example, in extensions, and can start from 1375mm (4'-6") in diameter

Non-Standard Staircase:
Where the available space is less than that required by UK Building Regulations it may be feasible to have a smaller staircase starting from 106mm (3'-6"), however we would always reccomend that this is cleared with your local Planning Office.
