Family-owned Engineering Since the Beginning
Family-owned and run Annandale Design was founded 55 years ago in 1960 by Mr. William Frew, a local 25 year old Ayrshire man, from Stevenston. William headed up the business for 30 years, starting out with only 2 employees and growing it to become a widely acknowledged specialist firm.
Diving into the History of Annandale Design
Annandale Design is situated in Kilmarnock, in the west of Scotland, home to Robert Burns’ first collection, “Poems, chiefly in the Scottish dialect” published in 1786 and where the internationally distributed whisky brand, Johnnie Walker, originated from.
Kilmarnock is the second largest town in Ayrshire and has a history seeped in textiles and heavy engineering industries. Annandale Design’s history is linked to what was a very industrial town, with the business providing engineering sub contract services to the surrounding industrial hub.
Today, William’s sons Allan and Graeme Frew own and the run the family business, which has become one of the leading fabrication and specialist metalworkers in the UK, employing over 30 people, and with a projected 2015 turnover of £1.7m. The company has been involved in a large number of projects across various sectors in the UK and has worked with a number of high profile clients such as BAM Group, Morgan Sindall, GlaxoSmithkline, Barony Universal products, Howco Group, Spie Ltd, Carillion and LendLease, along with many others.

Our Team
We provide a welcoming, motivated and hard-working environment for our employees, shown through our low staff turnover.
