Annandale Design played a key role in supporting the launch of the Harrods outlet at Silverburn Shopping Centre. Tasked with designing, manufacturing, and installing a plant platform for generators and AHU equipment, the project required careful planning and execution within a busy, live retail environment.
Project Overview & Scope of Works
- Full design-to-installation delivery
- Engineered to support heavy plant equipment
- Delivered within a live shopping centre
- Complex logistics including crane lifts
- Nightshift working to minimise disruption
Key Challenges & Site Constraints
Working within an operational shopping centre presented unique logistical challenges. All works had to be carefully scheduled during night shifts to minimise disruption to retailers and the public.
The project required the design and fabrication of a robust platform capable of supporting heavy plant equipment, including generators and air handling units. Transporting materials to the roof required precise coordination, involving large vehicles and crane lifts in restricted access areas.
Our team managed the full process from design through to installation, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with all safety standards. Collaboration with other contractors was essential to ensure smooth delivery within tight timeframes.
Project Outcome
Despite the complexities of a live environment, the project was completed successfully and on schedule. The finished installation provides reliable support for essential building services, demonstrating Annandale Design’s ability to deliver under challenging conditions.
