In February 2015, Annandale Design were appointed by contractor DMC, to carry out a crucial rail project at Hamilton Square Station in Birkenhead, Liverpool. DMC recalled Annandale Design’s expertise from Edinburgh’s Haymarket Station, where they were employed by Morgan Sindall in 2014 to carry out a full metalwork package over a period of 8 months, including the production of custom-made stainless steel barriers, balustrades and handrails, as well as all secondary steelwork.

The project at Birkenhead was very complex due to the platforms being some 30 metres below ground level, with works being carried out under strict health and safety conditions. Works involved survey, detailing, manufacture and installation of new balustrades and handrails to 5Nr platform stairs.

Conor McCann, Director, DMC Contracts, "Annandale Design were both committed and dedicated to the job at Hamilton Square Station, working through the night in some instances to make sure the project was completed on time. Their work was both professional and completed to a very high standard: a great service all round."
